Audit etiquette during a release freeze

Release freezes exist so channel teams can ship safely. Financial auditors who demand exploratory production changes in that week create avoidable friction. We ask clients for the freeze calendar at scoping and place heavy sampling either before code lock or after store approval.

What still works during freeze: document review, prior-period samples, escorted read-only walkthroughs of the release candidate, and drafting of memoranda. What waits: new extract jobs that contend with deployment pipelines, and workshops that pull the same engineers doing hotfixes.
